Private Gong Baths now available in Saratoga Springs at Bodywork Professionals!

Private Gong Baths now available in The Gong Room at Bodywork Professionals in Saratoga Springs, NY!

The Gong Lab is now accommodating private Gong Bath and Sound Healing sessions in The Gong Room that you have heard Nick and I talking about during our public events. This is where we’ve initiated the practice and experimentation that has been manifested over the years in a group setting and is now available for customized, one on one sessions offering a level of control, guidance, and interaction not available in a group setting.

What’s different?
The most noticeable difference between a group gong event and a private session is the amount of focus and customization on and for your needs and goals specifically. Although Nick and I always establish and maintain an intention in our public events; the private event allows us to construct a custom intention and path, with your optional guidance, specifically designed to maximize the healing events engendered by this vibration.

There is no wrong way to do it and the intention is limitless!
You may simply lie down silently and take a true ‘power nap’, or use the option to talk and explore physical, spiritual, or emotional healing goals in every aspect of new-life, life-change, and end-of-life anxieties.

What to expect?
-Consultation, planned interaction levels and methods
-Establishing private Intention / Goals (discussion and orientation)
-Custom pacing and intensity with re-entry options
-Optional participation, path or method creation for longer-term journeys

Gong Bath Event Photos in Albany, Latham, Troy, and New York, NY.

We have been fortunate this year to host dozens of Gong Bath events in Upstate New York with our gongs making it to Albany, Latham, Troy, Woodstock, Monroe, and back home to Saratoga Springs, New York.

People often ask after our gong baths if there's any special meaning to the seeming odd and crudely assembled images I use to promote each gong bath on Facebook.

Sometimes I am inspired by a theme but I am almost always quick to google a specific term for the theme and determined to stay committed even if the final image seems a little silly.

Here are a few of my favorites from 2017 featuring some of our own tuned Paiste planet gongs!

October 2016... Training as Journeymen Gong Masters with Don Conreaux

Nick and I are fresh off a 4 day weekend at the Ananda Ashram in Monroe, New York where we had the honor or training under Grand Gong Master Don Conreaux.

It's exciting to see such a full room of seekers quickly realizing what a unique experience they had fallen into...

Don has been around the world several times since the last time we saw him, and got some exceptional coverage in an article in the Financial Times titled "Masterclass: Gong playing with Don Conreaux" and I highly advise reading the article here

“We don’t call the gong a musical instrument. It’s a power tool,” says Don Conreaux, one of the world’s most respected gong teachers. “In learning to play the gong, the musician sees it more as an engine.”

The Gong Bath to Support Coesa and Roosevelt II in Saratoga Springs!

Sometimes being a gong master means getting to do really awesome things. This past Sunday we had an event to raise money for Coesa at the Roosevelt II bathhouse in Saratoga Springs, NY. Coesa has made it their mission to bring the Roosevelt II bath back to life. Roosevelt II a cool old Victorian age Greek revival bath house in the heart of the Saratoga Springs State Park. The bathhouse has been empty, unused and neglected for 30 years until this wonderful non-profit group has made it their mission to bring it back to life.

The setting was simply awesome. An old brooding building, rusting and worn with magic in it’s bones. The healing history built around the stone columns of this Greek revival building made this feel like we were part of something special, part of history. The gongs dovetailed nicely in the setting and we had an awesome, inquisitive crowd.

Each Gong event is different and this one was energetic and revitalizing. The Gong Lab is not a formal non-profit but Gong brother Jim and I do not take a profit from of efforts. We simply roll all the income directly back into buying more gongs. Doing a fundraising event for Coesa, who has the great mission of bringing the Roosevelt II back to life was an honor and felt much more important than just accumulating more gongs.

This is more than a hobby, it’s a shared labor of bliss. We have a home in the gongs, and a place where we can be gong geeks. Our own little weird place in the world, and everybody is invited.

Thanks again for all those who took part, and for Coesa for bringing breaking life, vitality and healing into our lives.

Gong Masters in the New York Times!

Wow, we woke up this morning to a great article in the New York Times about Gong Baths making the move from "Metaphysical to Mainstream"

This is such a great affirmation of our beliefs as we've been hosting Gong Baths for years and it's always refreshing to see that we're not alone in the Gong Universe!

Excerpts from Sohpia's Kercher's New York Times Article
(please read the entire article by clicking HERE)

Once found only at New Age retreats or the white-domed Integratron in the Mojave Desert, sound baths are now offered all over Southern California. Celebrities such as Robert Downey Jr., Charlize Theron, Laurence Fishburne and Robert Trujillo of Metallica have participated. Sound healers, sometimes called “sounders,” say the vibrations can relax brain-wave patterns, lower heart rate, reduce stress and pain, relieve anxiety and sometimes help with post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms.

Dr. Helen Lavretsky, a psychiatry professor at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at the Geffen School of Medicine at U.C.L.A., and a Kundalini yoga instructor, has practiced sound meditation for 11 years, using it for older adults with memory problems, among others.

She said that participants will often fall into a state of profound relaxation and wake up refreshed. “Deep mental and physical relaxation would decrease sympathetic and will increase parasympathetic autonomic nervous system tone and response, thus decreasing stress response,”

The article mentions the Integration, Temple of Intuition, and Jamie Ford of The Sound Space.

It's exciting to see Gong Bath's going mainstream, especially considering some of our recent decisions to house a number of our Gong's at Nick's new Bodywork Professionals office on Spring Street in downtown Saratoga Springs. We've dedicated an entire room to massage and Structural Integration simultaneously with the Gongs.

We are preparing now for a Gong Bath in the Saratoga Springs Spa State Park at the Roosevelt II baths.  This amazing building has the potential to be destination for sound healing events in New York and is being rehabilitated by the Coesa crew who is dedicating their energy to rehabilitate this wonderful building. We went for a visit last weekend to prepare for a fundraiser on August 23rd at 10am.

Jamie Rock, of JRockVision got some video of our rehearsal last weekend:

See you soon!

Nick and I are re-charged after getting to spend some quality time deep in the sounds of the universe with Mickey Hart on the 4th of July in Chicago. We are excited to have had a month to prepare since our last Latham event and have learned so much that we're brimming with positive energy for this next experiment.

The Gong lab is a sound and vibration meditation experiment. We use gongs, singing bowls and other equipment to facilitate relaxation and cultivate a rejuvenating experience. The  gong produces a continuum of sound or holistic resonance found in living objects that vibrate with every cell in their being. The gong is an engine of resonate power or "feeling" tones. Feeling tones are felt in a kinesthetic way as a result of sustained tone production of long, low waves of low frequency sound waves or oscillations. The body responds to prolonged saturation  of sound by listening like a big ear, hearing with feeling. When  this happens, the mental, emotional and physical bodies become both super-conductive, and super-regenerating  as the strain caused by the normal resistance of the ego-identity no longer exists as a disease factor.

And it just sounds cool.

Gong Labs are donation based. We ask for $10-$20 but we want you there no matter what. Bring a friend for their first time as our special guest for free. Tell us you are coming and reserve a space via our Facebook event page or call (518) 389-2200.
